Our Mission:

Accelerate Change.

We are working to establish a neighborhood hub that combines the best parts of business, education and faith to change a neighborhood. Want to help?

Our Mission

There are so many good people gathering together and believing we can shape what Merced is heading toward. We are not powerless and don’t have to shake our heads at the problems we see around us.

People Not Projects

Our Street, Inc. is working to help accelerate change in Merced by bringing people together to fix solvable problems in our city. Our main emphasis is in developing a mixed use community space to house office spaces, a coffee shop, community forums, technology training, recovery friendly jobs and after hours education.

Whether you are a startup, solo-prenuer, small business or remote worker, our goal is to offer a place to not only help you succeed, but to be a part of a movement bigger than any one of us. Together we can go far.

A key element to any 12 Step Program, and an essential part of neighborhood change, has always been faith. Our Street wants to help faith groups bring hope to our neighborhoods as we collaborate together.

The difference between a good job and a great job is often skill sets. We want to help those in our city who want to learn new skills succeed. We have a lot of ideas we can’t wait to share.

Our heart from the beginning has been what would we do if we didn’t care who got credit? How can we help one more person get a job? Or how can we help two different groups of people start important conversations? And you’re invited.

If you are going to reach people no one is currently reaching, you have to do things that no one is doing.

Get Involved

We don’t have to shake our heads at the statistics in Merced showing that 2/3rds of the kids under 12 in our city live at or below the poverty line. We don’t have to wonder how to help those in recovery get a first job. We don’t have to stand helpless waiting for someone else to help the marginalized neighborhoods of the city.

We can start now.

We strongly believe the adage that if you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, go together. If you’re for Merced, let’s talk.

Making dents in the cycle of poverty in our city is going to require a lot of hammers. Each dollar helps us keep moving hope forward.
